Good leadership equals satisfied employees

To develop the leadership skills of our team leaders, Tvilum has since 2017 invited the group in for periodic training sessions. We call this our Team Leader Training Program. The program participants represent a wide range of functions and departments, but all share a common responsibility for team management. Over the course of the 3-4h sessions, they are regularly given insight into topics such as leadership, labor legislation, psychology, and general team-building tools. According to Mark Elkær Sørensen, our team leader overseeing the team of 7 people in the incoming chipboard department, the training has given him valuable knowledge that he can use in his everyday role. Mark is also responsible for the foiling and saw machinery, and the completeline machine, so developing his leadership skills is important for him. Equally important – participating in the program has enabled Mark to meet up with his colleagues from other parts of the organization and learn from each other. Even though the functions and ways of working vary from department to department, the leadership scenarios are similar, because leadership is about the people, regardless of function.

Even though the training program was temporarily put on hold when the virus first emerged, it has been restarted recently and Mark hopes that the group can continue its path in becoming better leaders. Better leaders equal satisfied employees - and isn´t that what we all should strive towards.
